chris shawDr. Christopher Shaw is Out of Touch with Science for continuing to support his discredited research showing a causal relationship between life saving vaccines and autism, even though his research puts children at risk.

He is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia and holds cross appointments with the Department of Experimental Medicine and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles as well as numerous book chapters and special reviews. He is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of CMSRI.

The Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute (CMSRI) states:

What happens to children when they receive aluminum containing vaccines? In their landmark 2013 paper, Canadian scientists Professor Christopher Shaw and Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic show that the more children receive vaccines with aluminum adjuvants, the greater their chance is of developing autism, autoimmune diseases and neurological problems later in life.

UBClogo1The University of British Columbia continues to defend the two researchers who published vaccine-related studies discredited by the World Health Organization and described by several medical experts as weak and misleading. According to WHO:

Organizations that promote messages about the dangers of vaccines, such as the Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute (CMSRI), have used the results of the UBC research as evidence that vaccines cause autism and other serious harm. The front page of the CMSRI website states that in a “landmark” 2013 paper, the two UBC researchers show that “the more children receive vaccines with aluminum adjuvants, the greater their chance is of developing autism, autoimmune diseases and neurological problems later in life.” In that study, the researchers note that the rate of autism spectrum disorders increased along with the number of pediatric vaccines that contain aluminum.
